Spellex SDK for ActiveX - Technical Support

Question: How can I use Spellex ActiveX in a VisualBasic.NET application?

Answer: The easiest way to use an ActiveX control like Spellex ActiveX in VisualBasic.NET is to drop it onto a form in your application, and before you can do that you need to add Spellex ActiveX to the VisualBasic.NET toolbox. Adding Spellex ActiveX to the toolbox is easy:

  1. In VisualBasic.NET, hover the mouse over the Toolbox to open it.

  2. Click on the General tab in the Toolbox.

  3. Right-click over an empty area of the Toolbox, then select Customize Toolbox. The Customize Toolbox dialog box will open.

  4. In the Customize Toolbox dialog box, make sure the Com Component tab is selected.

  5. Locate the Spellex ActiveX ActiveX Spelling Checker entry in the Customize Toolbox dialog box. Click on the entry (make sure the check box at the left is checked), then click OK in the Customize Toolbox dialog box.

  6. An entry for Spellex ActiveX will be added to the General tab of the Toolbox.

To add Spellex ActiveX to a form in your application, drag its icon from the General tab of the Toolbox onto the desired form.
